Representative David B. Sullivan of the 6th Bristol District has been a fighter for the people in his district since he was first elected. He has the fortitude to take a stand where others will not venture.

Early in his career there was a move to de-designate the state pier, a move that would have ended the life of that important facility as a working pier. Representative Sullivan took a tough stand and fought long and hard to keep the state pier as a working pier.

Due to his vigilance the state pier is going through a rehabilitation phase. State funds will be used to modernize the facility and in the near future it will be used as one of the economic engines for the city of Fall River.

Representative Sullivan said, “Our nation is starting to realize how important our old transportation system is to our well being. Our rivers, lakes and oceans will once again be our highway to prosperity. Fall River, which has the second deepest port in the Commonwealth, will be well positioned to take advantage of this cheap and efficient transportation mode.”

Representative David Sullivan has always been and will always be a strong advocate for the senior citizens. Just a few years ago he secured an additional $1 million in state funding to provide protective services to elders at risk.
